Lovely folded porcelain cup with original RockStack design. The drawing is created with an inlay technique called 'mishima'. Lines are etched into the semi-dry clay form then filled with a colored 'slip'. Once dry the excess slip is scraped away carefully with a flat metal tool called a rib. It's the perfect technique to create natural, thin sketch-like lines. It's finished with a shiny transparent glaze. Looks great paired with matching bowl and/or cup. Or mix and match patterns like Poppies and Stacks. Dimensions: 3.75" diam x 4.25" h.
All of my RockStack cups have one area of pattern on the exterior and one small bit secreted away on the interior (and sometimes on the underside as well)!
Since it can be challenging to accurately represent colors and surfaces of handmade ceramics, it's possible the piece you receive may vary slightly from the images.
