This mug has two sides: a yolk yellow parabola and light pink square with some warbly lines in between! The rims of my earthenware mugs are chunky and uneven - revealing the natural process marks of the stretched and folded clay. The handle (made from scraps of clay) has attitude! And feels great. When still damp, the cup is dipped in a white 'slip' (liquid clay bath) then the drawings are etched through the slip to reveal the rich, brown clay body. This mug exterior is finished with a shiny clear glaze and the interior has a shiny opaque white liner glaze. Dimensions: 3"diam x 3"h (approx. 6-8oz). Food-safe, limit dishwasher and microwave use.
NOTE: Since it can be challenging to accurately represent colors and surfaces of handmade ceramics, the piece you receive may vary slightly from the images. And, please be aware that slight irregularities (in form, color and surface) are a natural attribute of maker-made goods. Enjoy the perfect imperfections of handmade!
